Katanya kurang cocok. Hanya bagus untuk mengail putaran atas. Sementara, skubek bertransmisi CVT butuh power dan torsi gasingan bawah, supaya kilat melesat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Untuk itu, butuh pembuktian masuk akal. Sebagai bahan percobaan dijajal di Yamaha Mio bore up 125 cc. Sekaligus untuk mengukur tenaga atau power skubek kelas 125 cc di balap matik. Minggu lalu diterangkan kelas ini boleh diikuti semua merek.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mendongkrak Mio jadi 125 cc ada beberapa pilihan seher alias piston. Misal seperti dilakukan Mariasan Kocek dari JP Racing. Dia pakai piston punya Kymco diameter 52 mm. Pin piston 15 mm, sehingga cocok di Mio.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pilihan lain bisa pakai punya Jupiter-Z Izumi khusus balap. “Diameternya 52 mm tapi diameter pin piston 15 mm. Harus dibuatkan bos supaya pas,” jelas Chandra Sopandi, tukang bubut dari Master Tjendana di Jl. Didapat tenaga motor sampai 8,41 dk pada 8.650 rpm. Power lebih besar 0,57 dk. Berarti menggunakan klep lebar tenaga lebih besar ketimbang pakai klep standar.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tapi menggunakan klep lebar itu, tenaga baru memuncak setelah 7.000 rpm. Pada gasingan bawah, power klep standar masih meraja. Kesimpulannya, klep lebar bagus untuk mengail tenaga di gasingan atas. Maksudnya diameter piston dan stroke artinya langkah piston. Stroke disebut juga langkah naik-turun seher dari TMA (Titik Mati Atas) sampai TMB (Titik Mati Bawah).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dari rasio antara diameter (bore) dan langkah (stroke),didapatkan sifat mesin. Oversquare jika bore dibagi stroke angkanya lebih dari satu. Tapi jika bore dibagi stroke angkanya kurang dari satu, disebut undersquare. Kalo ukuran bore dan stroke sama, namanya square&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Di beberapa negara, perbandingannya terbalik. Misal di Finlandia perbandingin stroke terhadap bore. Jadi ukuran stroke ditaruh di atas, bahasa matematika disebut pembilang. Sedang bore sebagai pembaginya, atau penyebut. Istilah mesin yang langkah pistonnya lebih panjang dari diameter piston, disebut longstroke. Jika sebaliknya, disebut shortstroke&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kini bicara sifat mesin oversquare dibanding undersquare. Contohnya mesin oversquare Suzuki Smash 110. Sedang mesin undersquare ada di Shogun atau Spin. Mesin oversquare atau shortstroke disebut rasio positif. Disebut demikian karena stroke pendek friksi atau hambatan geseknya kecil. Kerja kruk-as lebih ringan. Selain itu, mesin oversquare lebih awet.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cukup dengan sedikit teknologi atau dikorek, kecepatannya bisa lebih tinggi dibanding mesin undersquare. Namun mesin oversquare dibanding torsinya di kecepatan rendah lebih kecil ketimbang mesin undersquare.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ini dikarenakan torsi didapat dari daya yang dihasilkan oleh lontaran bandul kruk-as. Makin jauh jarak dari titik pin setang piston ke poros kruk-as, atau panjang langkahnya, torsi makin besar. Sekarang tinggal menghitung rasio diameter dan langkah piston motor anda.
